This is a recipe from my special mamaw who passed away long before I was born. When I bake, I feel connected to her every time. I think she would’ve been an amazing person to know.
Mamaw's Apple Crisp
Equipment
- 8x8x2 pan/baking dish
- medium mixing bowl
- spatula
- cooking spray
- oven
Ingredients
- 4 cups apples (peeled and sliced)
- ⅔ cups brown sugar, packed ¾c if you like it sweeter
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup oats
- ¾ tsp cinnamon
- ¾ tsp nutmeg
- ⅓ cup softened butter/margarine
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ºF
- Grease baking dish with cooking spray
- Place apple slives into pan
- Mix the other ingredients in a medium mixing bowl until thoroughly integrated
- Sprinkle mixture over the apples
- Bake 30 minutes or until apples are softened and topping is golden brown
- Cool and serve
